Musical Hotline: Spaghetti Chorus is an interactive communication installation that transforms spoken voices into music and light.
Visitors speak into one of two microphones positioned at opposite ends of a long illuminated thread. As voices travel along its length, they appear as streams of colour, blending together to generate evolving melodic compositions.
Designed for the National Gallery of Canada’s Scotiabank Great Hall, this installation is part of Daily tous les jours’ Hello series, which explores the musical qualities and harmonics of human speech through poetic communication systems. By translating voice into shared sound and light, the work examines connection, presence, and collective expression in contemporary public space.
